At Dubai I stayed in the Premier Inn. Even rooms ending x02 to x10 look towards terminal 1, and x12, the first one down the eastern side, looks through the gap between terminals. I'm told 412 is optimum. Due to an adjacent building any higher is no use, but in the corner between 10 and 12 there's windows and seats which I briefly used in the morning.
There is a shuttle bus from terminal 1/3 and a Costa Coffee in the hotel.
