LFBO/TLS - Toulouse - Courtyard Marriott - August 2026

Rooms 519 517 501 505 507 508 511 515 of the the Courtyard Marriott at Toulouse all have view towards the cargo end of the airport. The Hotel has six floors and Basically all odd number rooms and the higher the better.  The rooms are all nice rooms with plenty of plug sockets and fast internet. The Hotel has a bar and restaurant and free car parking  A solid alternative to formula one etc.

This is a good hotel if you have a car, It has six floors and I think the top three floors would work. Odd numbered rooms have a view of the Terminal, cargo and the 32L/R threshold. We had room 517, other rooms that work are  519 501 505 507 508 511 515 the lower  the number the better. There is a full height window at the end of the corridor with views of the threshold. Parking is free for residents. The only downside is that are no views of the factory.

LFBO/TLS - Toulouse - NH Hotel - August 2026

The NH Hotel is connected to the main terminal (via Hall A, Departures level).  The hotel is at a 90 degree angle to the airport site, so no rooms look directly onto the airport.  However that said the hotel has a circular shape at the eastern side which helps with views.

There are 5 floors in total, but I think floors 3 and above will give views.  On the chart below (4th floor) green rooms are probably the best, with rooms ending *03 likely the optimum - these rooms give a view of approach to runways 14L/R or climb outs off 32L/R if the other direction is in use.  Green rooms also give a good view over some western parts of the Airbus factory site.

Yellow rooms also have a good view of approaches and climb outs, however the angle means less of the Airbus factory can be seen.

Blue shaded rooms have a view of approaches or climb outs in the opposite direction and very limited views onto the factory site.

LFPO/ORY - Paris Orly - Ibis Budget - July 2026

Stayed at the Ibis Budget and was given room 634 with an airport view of the landing runway.  other rooms that also worked were rooms 632 and 636, also with similar views.there is a window at the then of the corridor where aircraft on aproach to 06 can be seen but not read off. asside from breakfast there is no food available at the hotel and facilities in the airport close early, be warned.

LFMN/NCE - Nice - Greet Hotel - March 2026

I stayed at the Greet hotel, which is halfway along the main bizjet parking ramp. I booked directly with the hotel and was allocated room 615 on arrival. Half the rooms in this hotel faced towards the airport. The room is perfectly located to read all the three lines of parked biz jets. The only problem is that the bed butts up against the window and can’t be moved   This is a small inconvenience for the great view. I had a double room, but I'm not sure what the other room configurations are. The room is suitably equipped with three plug sockets plus USB. French style continental breakfast was included in the room rate. The hotel also has an outdoor terrace, which unfortunately faces the wrong way. All is not lost though as the bar area looks out towards the airport with the same view as the hotel room. Rooms ending in anything from 01 to 15 have the suitable view. I marked my hotel booking with that as a request.

LFPB/LBG - Paris Le Bourget - AC Hotel - January 2026

Rooms x12-16 all have this view. If staying in x01-x08 the rooms face the museum, but the hallway window allows for view onto the ramp. x09-x11 faces CDG direction. Floors 5 and up work. 8th floor only has x01-x12. 9th floor is the rooftop bar with terrace, open 1200-2200.

LFBO/TLS - Toulouse - Ace Hotel Cornebarrieu - January 2026

Room 305 (end of corridor) 304, 303, 302 plus maybe 301 all have airport views from the end of the runway and unlikely you would miss any movements. 305 would be the best view and all these rooms are double. Room 306 307 etc are the other side of the corridor facing away from the airport. Cheap, quiet, clean, free parking and plenty of food options you can easily walk to

LFPB/LBG - Paris Le Bourget - Hotel Kyraid - January 2026

Stayed at the Kyraid Le Bourget for £45.  Its a basic hotel. I asked for a road facing room which allowed views over the departure tracks for both LBG and CDG.

The hotel has a limited food and drink service. Pizza and beer was the best they could offer in the evening a continental breakfast was available for an extra charge. and there is a garage close by for supplies. The room has a small desk close to the window but only one chair.  there is a standard European plug on each side of the bed, which just about worked. The hotel is 600 yards away from the LBG museum.

LFMN/NCE - Nice Airport - Novotel Cap 3000 - July 2025

Good hotel and whilst does not have views over the airport is 5 min walk to the beach from where all movements can be seen  A pool/garden view room on the 3rd floor would give a fleeting glance of arrivals as they pass the threshold but the CAP3000 Shopping centre gets in the way.  Bus stop is outside the CAP3000 (5 mins walk) and 3 or 4 stops to the start of a walk along the fence at Nice Airport for the Biz Traffic.

LFPG/CDG - Paris Charles De Gaulle - Mercure CDG Airport and Conference Centre - April 2025

I spent 24 hours at Charles De Gaulle trying out a hotel I had always been curious about.

The Mercure Paris CDG Airport and Conference Centre will be instantly recognisable as its the hotel immediately opposite the famous spotting mound near Roissy.

Although there is now a cluster of hotels in that spot, this is the oldest one having been there 35 years plus, recognisable by its "three legs".

To get to the hotel from any of the terminals or the mound take the CDG Val transit to the car park stop "Parking PR"

After putting an original request at booking and then following that up on check in, I was given top floor room 806 which looks east, back towards T3 and the mound, with T2 to the right, as shown in the photo below.

Aircraft were arriving from the West and the majority of movements could easily be seen with the limited exception of some arrivals on the northerly runways which went to T1 and turned off too early and couldn't be seen until their departure.

As shown on the room plan below, any even rooms from 804 to 818 will give you a view facing East, looking slightly north. Odd numbered rooms 861 to 873 (on the other leg) will give you a view facing East looking slightly south. In theory if the traffic was landing from the East, Le Bourget inbounds would be in view from those rooms. 806 is highlighted in yellow below.

Finally, I've always wondered if there was roof top bar at this hotel so I took a quick wander up to the 9th floor, unfortunately there isn't. The space on the ninth floor is all convention space, so unless you fancy hosting your own spotters convention, the 8th floor is as good as it gets. The ninth floor plan is below.

LFLL/LYS - Lyon - Moxy Hotel - June 2022

Hotel is accessed through the Terminal building and Need to book a Moxy Runways Views Room.  Nothing will be missed.  Downside car parking if required is in the airport car parks P2 which is a decent walk to the hotel and there is/was no kettle in the room for making a brew.  Other than that a good hotel usual fast food outlets in terminal and a reasonable breakfast can be had at the hotel.
